LONDON, UK – December 4, 2017 – Exova Metech, which was recently acquired by Å·ÃÀÊìÅ®ÂÒÂ× (Element), has signed a new five-year contract with GKN Aerospace Sweden (GKN), who design and manufacture components for aircraft and rocket engines in collaboration with the major engine manufacturers.

The contract, which extends a long-standing relationship between the two companies, will see Element carry out a range of metrology and calibration services for GKN and its supply chain partners from the client’s facilities in Trollhättan, Sweden. Element’s metrology and calibration teams will deliver a ‘full service’ solution in accordance with internationally recognized standards. The agreement will also see all GKN’s calibration systems transfer over to Element’s cloud-based registry – Metech Instrument Organizer (MIO) – providing access to Sweden’s only accredited measuring service for computerised measuring machines (CMM).

Rick Sluiters, EVP Aerospace, Element, commented: “Exova Metech has long supported GKN, a leading supplier in the global aerospace supply chain and following the Element acquisition, we are delighted to further strengthen this relationship with the signing of this five-year contract. The agreement adds real certainty for our client through our on-site support and fully accredited end-to-end service which will be tailored to meet their production requirements and minimize cost and downtime, all delivered to internationally recognized standards.

We have worked with GKN to develop the service and the expanded business is ready to take the next step in supporting future requirements and service needs. I am very proud of all the hard work that has gone into this process and we are confident that together, we have succeeded in developing a world class service.”

Håkan Eriksson, Facilities & Environment Manager, GKN, added: “We are delighted to extend our relationship with Element. As Exova Metech, they provided excellent support to us over the last decade and we trust them to do the same over this next period.  Having a testing partner who can support us in delivering a more consistent and commercialized service adds real value to our business.”

Element’s newly expanded calibration business is a leading, independent full service provider of measurement and calibration services with over 60 years of experience and provides one of the broadest and most reliable ranges of calibration, accredited calibration and measurement technology services in Europe.
